Community Outreach Program
In an effort to bring awareness of good dental health to our area, our office has established a free educational community outreach program. We have two registered dental hygienists who are dedicated to pediatric dentistry that visit classrooms in preschools and grade schools throughout Oakland County.
The hygienists bring a program to the children at the schools and discuss good brushing habits, nutrition for dental health, the cause and prevention of tooth decay, and the control of finger and thumb habits. They also make it fun for the kids by using a puppet named “Skylar” to illustrate tooth brushing and flossing.
Because we are community-service oriented, our office participates in “Give Kids A Smile Day” sponsored by both the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association. We dedicate one full day annually, usually in early February, providing pro-bono examinations, cleanings and dentistry for underprivileged children in our area and continue to give them care and support throughout the year.
We want to have a relationship in our community that shows we care. As the saying goes, “ It Takes A Village” to care for children.
